•••• Instrumente vier verschiedener Gattungen eröffnen der Musik des Open Family Quartetts einen spektralen Klangraum, der in die Tiefen und Weiten imaginärer Klanglandschaften führt. Verwurzelt in langjährigen Erfahrungen – als ImprovisatorInnen und InterpretInnen, verbinden sich das Spontane und Unmittelbare improvisatorischer Kunst mit den architektonischen, formbildenen Kräften kompositorischen Bewusstseins. Das Ensemble feierte seine Premiere im November 2024 während Wien Modern.
•• Durch Loops und subtile Elektronik schickt Berlinde Deman die Klänge des Serpents, einem Vorläufer der Tuba. Und erkundet beim Ritual des langsamen Atmens diverse Arten der Stille „-von intim bis beunruhigend“.
• Foamtable ist das neue Tischinstrument aus Styropor von Heiner Metzger. Mit Objekten aus Holz, Styropor und einem Cello Bogen improvisiert er mit dem foamtable. Die sounds der Bassklarinette werden mit Loops und dezidierten Spieltechniken modifiziert.

•••• Instruments from four different genres open up a spectral soundscape for the Open Family quartet’s music, drawing listeners into the depths of imaginary landscapes. Rooted in many years of experience as both improvisers and interpreters, the group combines the spontaneity and immediacy of improvisational art with the architectural, form-shaping forces of compositional awareness. The ensemble celebrated its premiere in November 2024 during Wien Modern.
•• Through loops and subtle electronics, Berlinde Deman sends the sounds of the serpent, a forerunner of the tuba. And explores various types of silence “from intimate to disturbing” through the ritual of slow breathing.
• Foamtable is the new table instrument made of Styrofoam from Heiner Metzger. He improvises with the foamtable using objects made of wood, Styrofoam and a cello bow. The bass clarinet sounds are modified with loops and dedicated playing techniques.
